28 May 2019

The World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) is seeking volunteers to join a new WFDF Information Technology (IT) Committee to assist the board in evaluating upgrades to its systems over the next two years and oversee the work of a paid systems administration consultant. The Committee will be comprised of volunteers from the disc community and will be chaired by Luke Tobiasiewicz. Interested individuals should submit their applications with a summary of their qualifications and areas of expertise and interest by the 12th of June to luke@teamtg.co.uk.

There are many projects that are being considered to improve the efficiency of the organization, but the following projects have been deemed to be the most pressing. Such projects can include a review and confirmation of current systems, purchase of outside systems, in-house development, development of new procedures, etc.

  1. Review and recommendation of a consultant to serve as WFDF’s Systems Administrator
  2. Beta testing of and recommendations regarding the roll-out of WFDF’s updated web site
  3. Electronic Score Reporting (update or replacement of our interface with Ultiorganizer?)
  4. Rules Accreditation Testing
  5. Registration System for Events
  6. GDPR Compliance Review (including information on athletes)
  7. Arrangements for Servers and Cloud Storage Providers
  8. Update of “WFDF Office” (digital filing system)
  9. Replacement (and archiving) of yahoogroups, listservers
  10. Update of Memberlink System for Direct Communications to Interested Parties
  11. Streamlining of Mechanism to Communicate with Member Associations and for Voting
  12. Electronic SOTG Scoring System
  13. Disc Skills Proficiency Certification System
  14. System for Tracking and Allocating Consultants Work Hours

The first tasks for the IT Committee will be to review the project list, amending it as necessary, and helping the board to prioritize the projects taking into account the likely cost budgets.
