What is Ultimate

What is Ultimate

Ultimate is a team sport played with a frisbee (disc), which can be played with 7-player teams on a grass field the size of a football field, or with 5-player teams on a court or beach the size of a basketball court. This game, which involves a lot of running and throwing, is based on intelligence, honesty, strength, and agility. It prioritizes sportsmanship through the philosophy of "Spirit of the Game".

Frisbee in the World

Ultimate Frisbee is represented internationally by the World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF), which has representative associations from 108 member countries.

WFDF is an international federation that is fully recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), International Paralympic Committee (IPC), FISU, ARISF, GAISF, International Masters Games Association (IMGA), and International World Games Association (IWGA).

How to Play

Teams position themselves at the scoring zones at opposite ends of the field. The team starting on defense makes the opening throw and throws the disc to the attacking team's side. The game starts from where the disc lands. The attacking team's goal is to advance by passing the disc without letting it touch the ground and to keep the disc in the air in the opponent's scoring zone. In this case, a point is scored.

The defending team's goal is to intercept the disc, cause it to touch the ground, or go out of bounds. In this case, possession changes without stopping the game, and the team that just successfully defended tries to score in the same way in the opponent's scoring zone.

The player holding the disc cannot move with it and must pass it. Frisbee is a non-contact sport, and interference with opponents is considered a foul.
